After the elections: will the 4th Industrial Revolution be on the agenda of regulators?

Posted on: The recent parliamentary elections in The Netherlands attracted international interest. After the surprises in 2016, would mainland Europe be in for another wave of populism? Would our country set the tone for the elections in France and Germany later this year? Perhaps the Dutch supporting programme did not bring the sensational overture that international media were hoping for. But what I found most striking in the run-up to Election Day, was the fact that the impact of the present digital revolution on the electorate was almost absent from the public debate. Should associations pave the way for a public agenda that addresses the 4th Industrial Revolution?

Creating a bigger pie

We argue that it requires a global scale to tackle challenges like global governance, scarcity of commons, climate change and financial stability in an integral way. Only with united efforts it will be possible to create a bigger pie. We will use The Netherlands as an example.
