Lejeune walks for the Princess Máxima Centre

Lejeune Association Management recently became a Business Friend of the Princess Máxima Centre in Utrecht. Through an annual contribution, we support research, innovation in care and facilities for children with cancer and their families. In doing so, we contribute to the mission of curing every child with cancer while ensuring the best possible quality of life. Our team has embraced this commitment too. When our colleague Piroska suggested walking together, the first plans quickly took shape: a short lunchtime walk and a five-kilometre route for those who want to go a little further. During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we are using these walks to raise awareness of children with cancer and their families.

Canada and the EU: what ‘associate membership’ teaches association professionals

What does Canada’s relationship with the European Union have to do with association management? More than you might think. The period from early September to mid-October is one in which, across Europe, parliaments return from the summer recess, and Royal Throne speeches and Presidential State of the Union addresses kick off the parliamentary year. For sector organisations, the ‘political season’ begins. This is also why many European lobbying and interest groups schedule their policy activities, parliamentary receptions and position papers specifically around this time.
