Industry association Afera introduces TACK

Afera, the European association for the adhesive tape industry, is working on a groundbreaking innovation in sustainability. In collaboration with IVK and Sphera TACK – the Tapes and Adhesives Calculation Kit– has been developed. This collaborative and third-party verified method enables companies to reliably, efficiently and affordably calculate the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) of tapes and adhesives.

Tack is:

Accessible and user-friendly – After a short training, anyone can start using it.
Scientifically substantiated – Based on ISO 14067 and the Together for Sustainability (TfS) PCF guidelines.
Validated across the sector – Developed for tape and adhesive manufacturers, converters, and raw material suppliers.
Guaranteed reliability – Validation by DEKRA ensures accurate results. 

Why TACK makes a difference

Many existing PCF tools require specialised LCA knowledge and customisation, creating a barrier for companies. TACK offers a transparent, verified, efficient and affordably solution that enables businesses to calculate their environmental impact more quickly and accurately. Final stage before launch TACK is in the final development phase. The tool is currently undergoing external assessment and validation by DEKRA (an independent inspection office). Soon, Afera and IVK members will receive a comprehensive demonstration of its functionalities.
