PayChecked in Transport celebrates 10 years with radio campaign, interviews and event

Posted on:

PayChecked in Transport celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2026. This milestone is being marked through an anniversary campaign that brings together visibility, insight and opportunities to connect. Lejeune’s PayChecked in Transport team developed a communications approach with three key elements: a ten-week campaign on BNR Nieuwsradio, interviews with long-standing certification holders celebrating ten years with the scheme, and an anniversary event on 7 October at the Railway Museum in Utrecht.

The first element launches on 1 September. For ten weeks, PayChecked in Transport will feature in publicity and broadcasts surrounding a BNR Nieuwsradio series exploring current issues in the transport sector. BNR retains full editorial control over the content and production of the series.

For PayChecked, the series offers an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of its tenth anniversary among business owners and decision-makers, while highlighting the importance of a fair and professional transport sector.

Ten years of working towards a level playing field

But what exactly is PayChecked in Transport? The certification scheme was established in 2016 with TLN and evofenedex as founding partners. PayChecked demonstrates to clients that transport companies pay their employees correctly and have the relevant payroll records and processes in order.More than 800 transport companies now hold the certification. Audits are carried out by independent inspection bodies, providing clients in the transport supply chain with independent evidence that a haulier meets PayChecked’s requirements. The scheme brings hauliers, clients and independent inspection bodies together around a shared goal: fair pay and a level playing field in the transport sector.

1. Ten weeks of PayChecked on BNR

From 1 September, PayChecked in Transport will be heard on BNR Nieuwsradio for ten weeks. The campaign consists of radio adverts aired around a series produced by BNR on current developments and issues in transport. BNR’s editorial team selects the topics and guests. PayChecked lends its name to the series as a partner, reflecting its tenth anniversary and commitment to the transport sector. This gives the certification scheme ten weeks of national exposure to a business audience, while highlighting its anniversary message: PayChecked in Transport, the certification scheme for fair pay in the transport sector for ten years.

2. Long-standing certification holders share their stories

The second element of the anniversary campaign focuses on companies that have been involved with PayChecked from the outset. Several certification holders celebrating ten years with PayChecked this year have been interviewed. Why did they join at the time? What role does the certification play within their organisation? How do they experience the independent inspections? And what are their views on good employment practices and developments in the transport sector?Through perspectives from different companies and roles, the interviews show how PayChecked works in practice and how the certification scheme has developed over ten years.

3. Anniversary event on 7 October

On 7 October 2026, the various elements of the anniversary campaign will come together at an anniversary event at the Railway Museum in Utrecht.Led by journalist and BNR presenter Meindert Schut, representatives from business, government and inspection bodies, alongside certification holders and other stakeholders, will discuss developments in the sector and the future of fair transport. There will, of course, also be time to reflect on ten years of PayChecked. Certification holders who have been part of the scheme for ten years will receive special recognition during the afternoon.

One anniversary, three ways to tell the story

The BNR campaign, interviews and anniversary event keep PayChecked’s tenth anniversary in the spotlight over an extended period. Each element serves a distinct purpose. The BNR campaign provides national visibility among business and transport audiences. The interviews tell the story from practical experience. And on 7 October, the various parties within and around PayChecked will come together to reflect on the past and look ahead.Together, these elements turn ten years of PayChecked into a campaign that shows where the certification scheme began, where it stands today and the role it aims to continue playing in a fair transport sector.
