EFTA-Benelux launches learning network on environmental impact of flexographic printing

Our client EFTA-Benelux is entering into a partnership with VIGC to launch a new learning network focused on the environmental impact of flexographic printing. The first session will take place on 5 June 2025 at Xeikon Manufacturing in Lier, Belgium.

Why this initiative?

The aim of this learning network is clear: to objectively and thoroughly map out the environmental impact of both solvent-based and water-based flexographic printing. This will provide companies in the sector with insight into relevant parameters and offer tools to take steps towards more sustainable production processes.

Through knowledge sharing and the exchange of experiences within the network, participants will jointly develop an objective framework to support better-informed decision-making. The results of the research will also be shared with the European Commission and contribute to the broader industry partnership in which VIGC is involved.

Programme

The learning network consists of four sessions spread over several months:

Session 1: Introduction & Framework
5 June 2025 | 10:00 – 12:30

Session 2: CO₂ Calculation & Energy Consumption
5 June 2025 | 13:30 – 15:30

Session 3: Environmental Impact of Inks, Anilox Rollers and Maintenance
25 June 2025 | 09:00 – 12:30

Session 4: Printing Plates & Wrap-Up
11 September 2025 | 09:00 – 12:30
