Tailored Sustainability Information for Members of Royal Kartoflex

Our client, the industry association Royal Kartoflex, will launch a new white paper at the end of March 2025, offering valuable sustainability information. This document provides members with practical insights and hands-on support to help them meet the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

Reliable and Relevant Sustainability Information

Within the packaging industry, represented by Kartoflex, a joint approach has been developed to help companies provide reliable and relevant sustainability information. Industry-wide, the material topics have been identified and documented, including targets and relevant data. This results in a structured and comprehensive provision of information.

The white paper outlines this approach and provides Kartoflex members with key sustainability information tailored to their specific needs.

Collaboration for a More Sustainable Value Chain

Luc Lejeune, sustainability advisor to Kartoflex, explains: “Over the past four months, we have worked with a dedicated committee on compiling this sustainability information. We hope that it not only meets the needs of our members but also fosters better collaboration and a more sustainable value chain. Sustainability is a top priority for Kartoflex, just as it is in the industry in which our members operate. We see this challenge not merely as a compliance obligation, but as an opportunity to work together toward a transparent and sustainable future.”

Lejeune’s Role

Lejeune plays an initiating and facilitating role within Kartoflex and among its member organisations. Developing strategic projects and member programmes — both in an advisory and operational capacity — is one of Lejeune’s core strengths. This includes organising conferences and providing content-driven support to industry associations.

For the sustainability content, Lejeune also sought input from other industry associations within the Lejeune network. Special thanks go to FINAT and Afera for their valuable contributions.

In addition, the following individuals from Kartoflex’s volunteer network deserve special recognition:

  • Sounding Board Group: Dorien van den Helm (Acket), Anouk van Roosmalen (Acket), Ken Haan (MM), and Rolf Carsjens (ENR) for their valuable insights.

  • Interviews: Flor Pena Herron (De Jong Verpakkingen/Stora Enso), Cas Dings (Dings Kartonnage), and Roemer Zijp (Multitubes) for their contributions to the research.

  • Framework Development: Christian Slob, Michiel Musterd, and Galil Al-Haj of Berenschot, as well as Linda van Dijk of Montis-Q, for their crucial roles in the process.

Many thanks to everyone who contributed!

Lejeune customer team, Royal Kartoflex (F.l.ntr.) Luc Lejeune, Hans van Schaik & Hélène van Hahn-Van 't Hoff
